Welcome to the TFL-approved fanlisting for the Japanese singer, actress, and fashion icon Ayumi Hamasaki (浜崎あゆみ in Japanese, あゆ/Ayu for short)! Ayumi's sincere and self-written lyrics, lovely voice, independent nature, amazing PVs, and ever-evolving image as a musician and superstar have ensured her status as Japan's pop princess for the duration of her prolific 12-year (and counting!) career and an icon in Asia and the world. She is adored by many for her uniqueness, talent, showmanship, and personality, is a trendsetter Japan-wide, and is super dedicated to her craft. We ♥ Ayu!

This fanlisting was previously owned by Haley and Kay from 2003-2010, but was very kindly adopted out to Alice in December 2010. In its long life it has accrued over 3000 members, which is no mean feat and a sure testimony to her popularity. Wishlister get!

When I applied to adopt the Ayumi Hamasaki fanlisting, I believed my chances were virtually null. I had not been in the fanlisting community long and all I had as proof of my commitment was a huge amount of enthusiasm. But it would not be right to not at least try for this wishlister, and I threw my heart into my application, hoping for another chance one day. I was at least happy that the fanlisting, which Haley and Kay put an incredible amount of work into over the years, would not have to close, but instead could thrive and continue to be a place to unite Ayu's many fans worldwide.

Some time later, I opened my email and saw a response from Haley, as promised. I assumed this would be my rejection email and felt a pang of disappointment but not much surprise. Until I opened the response and saw I was approved. Well, my reaction was one of incredible excitement and ecstasy, as well as gratefulness to the owners. For not only is it a major honour to run Ayumi Hamasaki's TFL fanlisting, it is a major honour to be picked by Haley and Kay out of the multiple applicants, for their fanlisting is wonderful. So my heartfelt thanks go to them for creating the opportunity to adopt the fanlisting and also for letting me adopt it into my collective ♥!
